A tall stoneware mug with a metallic copper glaze across the top, shifting between bronze, rust, and deep red as the light moves. Below it, a band of speckled teal breaks through, and the two glazes meet in a wavering line above the bare clay foot.
This handmade ceramic mug holds about 12 oz and stands roughly 4.25" tall, with a gently flared rim. The handle has a smooth glazed grip, and the mug is sturdy enough for daily use. Don't let the shine fool you: it looks like hammered copper, but it's all glaze, no metal. Totally microwave and dishwasher safe.
Wheel-thrown in my McKean County, PA studio using brown speckled stoneware. Each mug shows unique variation in the glaze pattern, especially where the copper runs into the teal and the speckles break through.
Clay: Brown speckled stoneware
Glaze: Copper (metallic bronze and rust over speckled teal) + exposed clay base
Size: 12 oz / 4.25" tall
